High praise from the Paymaster

PAYMASTER General Dawn Primarolo MP came to Warrington to praise the community identity in the borough.

The MP was guest of honour at a Birchwood Park Dinner held for charity, community and business groups.

And the visit gave the minister a chance to discuss a variety of subjects and view a number of exhibits - most notably an educational game piloted in Warrington which is designed to improve computer awareness among a number of players of all ages.

She also met Dr Beryl and Dr Peter Beynon from the charity Jacobs Well who are providing humanitarian aid in Afghanistan as well as representatives from Warrington Community Transport and Warrington Youth Action.

Helen Jones MP for Warrington North, who hosted the dinner, said the evening was a great success.

She added: "Most importantly, the minister was able to see first hand the partnerships that work in Warrington in both local business and within the community which continue to make this town prosperous as well as providing support for voluntary and charitable work and put us at the forefront in developing innovative ideas."
