Why are they making my life a misery?

I am having a very hard time at the moment trying to get my PhD finished. I have been made a very good job offer on completion, which I may not get the chance of again.

Unfortunately the people that I am studying for have not even congratulated me and are making my life very hard. I have never had any encouragement and they keep telling me that I won't finish on time.

I am due to finish in one week, but I am worried that they will stop me and will lose out on the job by delaying. I was wondering why they were giving me such a hard time and whether I would finish on time and get my PhD and go on to my job.

And whether I could soon be happy as it has been a long struggle and I am very down.

Dear Jaimie

Jealousy can make people very irritating. Sometimes they don't know they are jealous.

You keep your head down and forget about people that want you to fail. You will do well but you just have to believe in yourself. These people will be a memory and their comments. But you need to rise above it and leave them behind, even if they are family.
