Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts League

ALTHOUGH there have been quick games this season it is very rare for a player to finish in 15 darts.

This was achieved by Union Tavern's Mark Hughes, when after four successive 100s, he finished on 101.

This helped his team to recover from 3/1 down against Halton Marauders but their resultant 5/4 win enabled them to go top of section two.

Navigation are second following their 5/4 win over Lion, open dated leaders Navvy Lads slip to third.

A 16-dart game from Terry Sheen helped Dreadnaughts to a 5/4 win against Pavilions A.

RAOB Buffs Rob Cavanagh hit a 19 dart game but his team slipped to fifth after losing 5/4 to RNA.

Wanderers won their first league match of the season, beating Royal Oak 5/4, to move them off the foot of the table.

The top of the table clash in section one saw Albion thrash Navvy 9/0.

The best was a 15-dart game from John Kilkenny and an 18-dart game, which included a 116 finish from Phil Littler, Colin Rigby hit a maximum.

Tricorn are second after a 5/4 win against Outcasts, Paul Walsh finishing on 112.

Lion Doo Waps remain fourth after games of 16 and 18 darts from Gary Bazley and Martin Walsh respectively and a maximum from John Crompton contributed to a 6/3 win against Halfway A.

Tranny Lads in fifth remain two points adrift of the leaders after an 18 dart game, which included a 120 finish from John Hillan, helped his team to a 6/3 win against Halfway Gents.

Roundhouse A are still searching for their first points of the season after going down 6/3 to local rivals Likely Lads.

Dev Superstars maintained their unbeaten record in section three with a 6/3 win against Lion Stonecutters but Draymen and Grapes exchanged places in second and third when the former won this fixtures 5/4, leading the way for the winners was Craig Walsh who finished on 117.

Despite losing 5/4 to The Tup, Pavilions B remain fourth, Phil Lawson hit a maximum for the winners.

Weston Point SC moved off the bottom after a 16-dart game from Mike Bentley helped his team to a 5/4 win against Jolly Brewer. Fiddlers III are now bottom after losing 6/3 to Castle.

Grapes B failed to show against Clarendon.

Section four leaders Halfway Mixed were the surprise package in the second round of the Apec Taxis KO cup, beating section one's Tranny Lads 5/4.

Unfortunately Jolly Brewer, RNA and Clarry B all failed to put in an appearance while the quickest game of the night came from Weston Point SC's Kevin Houghton who finished in nine darts. Halfway A beat Tricorn 7/2.
