Trio to stand trial for body in the Brook murder

THREE men accused of murder will still stand trial early next year.

Philip John Hubbertsy, aged 30, of Wilderspool Causeway, Stephen Peter Wood, aged 23, of no fixed address and Alan Spencer Warburton, aged 46, of Bretheron Place, Rainhill, all pleaded not guilty to murder when they appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday.

Their trial will begin on February 28.

The men are charged in connection with the murder of Malcolm Crompton, aged 39, whose body was found by the police's underwater search unit on Saturday, May 29.
