BURGLARS stole hundreds of pounds of computer equipment from a house in a tiny village.
The thieves were seen fleeing across fields after the raid on Wednesday at about 6.30pm.
Officers believe up to £2,000 of computer equipment could have been stolen from the house in Rostherne.
Police have launched a search for a maroon car that was seen in Rostherne Lane.
"We want to see if the occupant can give us any information," said Dc David Healey. "There's no suggestion that they were involved."
Burglars broke into the house in Rostherne Lane between 6.30pm and 7pm.
Last week residents in Rostherne Lane said their village could be a target for burglars because it was easily accessible from the A556.
They said thieves had recently broken into another property in the area on the outskirts of Knutsford to steal tools.
Witnesses who saw the burglars or the maroon car in Rostherne Lane should call Dc David Healey on 01244 613431.
