Man in court over stabbing

A BEWSEY man will appear at Warrington Crown Court tomorrow, Friday, following a stabbing in the town centre.

Carl David Miller, aged 23, of Lilford Avenue, was arrested and charged with wounding with intent last Tuesday. He appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on the Thursday.

He has been charged in relation to an incident shortly before midnight on Tuesday, when a disturbance broke out between two men at the entrance of the Flares nightclub, on Bridge Street.

The clash resulted in a 29-year-old man being stabbed three times in his upper body. He was taken to Warrington Hospital, where his condition was described as serious but not life-threatening. Police were unable to confirm the man's condition, as the Guardian went to press.

Miller was granted conditional bail before his crown court appearance tomorrow.
