Historic list idea

A LIST of historic local buildings should be approved by Winwick residents, believes the parish council, which is going to write to Warrington Borough.

The parish council met the borough's conservation officer who is drawing up a list of historic Warrington buildings, in October. Councillors are concerned about the criteria used, whether or not the list will impact upon future applications and the lack of input from residents.

The parish council instructed its clerk, Les Higgins, to write to Warrington Borough Council asking for another meeting to discuss the list and to stress the importance of villagers' input.
