Poetry in motion for school pupils

CHILDREN enjoyed a feast of poetry fun at Orford Library last week to celebrate National Poetry Day.

Pupils and teachers from St Andrew's, St Stephen's and St Margaret's Primary Schools were treated to exclusive workshops by children's author Jan Dean.

The day was celebrated with a distinct food theme, as members of the town's Community Food Worker Project joined in the fun, promoting healthy eating along with Jan.

Pupils and teachers alike delighted in listening to Jan reading her own poems aloud before creating a 'group' poem to take back to share with the rest of their schools.

Workshops for adults continued at Warrington Library in the afternoon with Jan offering support and encouragement to budding poets.
