CHESHIRE Hawthorne had no problems dismissing the challenge of lower level opposition Stocks in Warrington Sunday Soccer League's Premier Cup.

Hawthorne's scorers in the 9-1 win were Leon Noel, three, Brendan Hennessey, three, Ste Hunt, Mark Hughes and Justin Farrely.

Callands progressed into the next round of the President's Cup after they got the better of Elephant FC 2-1 with goals from Phil Whitehead and Will Fields.

There was an exciting game at Wanderers in the Premier Division. Both sides missed several chances before Wanderers ran out 3-2 winners against Pierpoints with goals from Neil Matthews, two and Ste Fisher.

For Pierpoints, Scott Taylor and Mark Lee netted.

In Division One, Dog and Dart picked up their first points of the season with a 4-0 win against Culcheth FC. On the mark for Dog were Phil Hennessey, Steve Ward, Jeremy Glover and Troy Cartledge.

Monk Sports did their league position a power of good with their 6-1 win against FC Lion with goals from Danny Paget, three, Olly Roberts, Daniel Buckley-Mellor and Jimmy Bush.

Brooklands went down to Red Lion 4-2 in Division Two. For Lion, Stan Platt, Tony Platt and Lee Murphy, two, hit the back of the net.

Leaders Ridgeway Park put seven goals past Racing Rovers through Colin Oxley, Simon Myat, Dave Wiley, two and Gary Bannin, three.

Farmers Arms stayed hard on their heels in second place with a 2-0 win against Turf and Feather thanks to goals from Neil Flint and Brian Cox.

In Division Three, Dog and Partridge won their second game of the season 2-1 against Crossbar courtesy of goals from Stuart Clay and Tony Derbyshire.

Orford Storm jumped into third place in Division Four by defeating Hackney FC 7-2. Orford's scorers were Craig Brown, two, Andy Moore, Paul Kinsey and Ste Cotterill, three.

Lymm Park had a 3-1 victory over Power Construction with goals from Mike Bradley, two and Simon Axeworthy.
