Assess the situation for staff

A NORTHWICH-BASED training company is giving businesses the chance to play a hands on role in the development of their own staff by becoming NVQ assessors.

Plan-It Training is offering free places on assessor and verifier training courses, which are due to start in January next year.

The courses will be funded by the Government Office North West and the European Social Fund.

Lorraine Hatton-Downward, managing director of the company, said it is a great opportunity for small to medium-sized businesses to play an important part in the training of their staff.

She said: "The NVQ is worked on in the candidates' office or factory, so by becoming a verifier or assessor, employers or senior people in a small to medium-sized enterprise can really get an understanding of the qualification and guide and coach their staff more appropriately.

"It will add credibility and value to this nationally accepted qualification."

Training will be delivered either at Plan-It's Northwich head office in London Road or in the candidates' workplace.
