Booze ban reply

THE parish council has received a reply from Northwich Police in connection with its request about a by-law being introduced on the Nursery Road Recreation Ground.

Parish councillors want to introduce a by-law banning alcohol, but only as long as police are prepared to back it up with arrests.

Sgt Peter Mingella will be contacting the parish council in the near future to discuss the issue.

There have been considerable problems with late night drinking on the field, which now houses a skate park.

A by-law, which can only be introduced by Vale Royal Borough Council, would cost between £800 and £1,000, providing there are no objections.
