Firework fun

HALTON'S skies will be lighting up on November 5 with the staging of the biggest firework display in the North West!

About 35,000 people turned up to last year's Firework's Festival and it is predicted that even more will be attracted to the fantastic display this year.

Free displays are a great way to enjoy fireworks safely but people are asked to keep to the designated viewing areas for their own safety.

Runcorn viewing is from Mersey Road with free parking in town centre car parks and Widnes viewing is from Victoria Promenade, West Bank, with parking at the Catalyst Museum and West Bank Dock Estate. Entertainment starts at 6.30pm with the twenty-minute display kicking off at 7.30pm.

Rob Polhill, board member for tourism and promotions said: "The fireworks festival is a very popular event with local people and we also get many visitors from outside the borough. This is a free event and is the safest way to enjoy a breathtaking display of fireworks."

For more information on the event call the Tourist Information Centre on 0151-420 9414 or email tourist.info@halton-borough.gov.uk.
