Window cleaner in coma after fall

A 21-YEAR-OLD window cleaner is fighting for his life after plunging 20 feet from his ladder in Orford.

Toby Noble, of Ascot Road, Little Lever, was cleaning the windows of a terraced house when he fell from the ladder.

Mr Noble is in a coma with severe head injuries and his family have been trying to piece together what happened.

He had been cleaning windows in Windermere Avenue on Friday. He was working on the top floor windows of the terraced house when the occupants saw him fall to the ground. They found him unconscious and

called an ambulance.

He was taken to Warrington Hospital and put into a drug-induced coma. He has since been transferred to Walton Hospital where his condition remains critical.

His mother, Dren, father, Dennis, three

brothers and girlfriend, Claire Whitehead, have kept a bedside vigil.

Mrs Noble, aged 56, said: "We have all been supporting each other since the accident. We have been going to hospital together to be with Toby. Other family members have rallied around to help us through this and have been supportive.

"His girlfriend is devastated, they love each other very much. We have no idea why Toby fell from that ladder. All we know is that the people who lived at the house saw his ladder go and Toby fell to the ground. They immediately rang for an ambulance."

Mr Noble had completed a business course at Bolton Enterprise Centre before setting up his own window cleaning business 18 months ago. He had been renting a window cleaning round from another businessman in Warrington for the last six months.

He lives at home with his parents.

Mr Noble, aged 65, said: "Toby has always wanted to do something where he was self-employed, so he decided to go into window cleaning."
