Robbers strike twice at cashpoint

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two women were robbed at the same

cash point in Barnton on the same day.

The first incident happened at 3.30pm on Friday, October 22 on Lydyett Lane. A woman was withdrawing money at the Co-op cash point when a man approached her, pushed her and stole a quantity of cash.

The second robbery took place between 8pm and 8.30pm, when a woman in her 30s was withdrawing money.

She noticed a man walk close behind her, who then pushed her to the ground and stole money from the machine.

The same description of the offender was provided for both incidents.

The offender is described as being white, aged 19 to 20, 5ft 9ins, clean shaven, with black, short hair and a pale complexion.

He was of thin build and was wearing a navy blue tracksuit top and dark tracksuit bottoms. The top had a one-inch white stripe running down the sleeves.
