Legal past puts Pyramid in the spotlight

A CHAPTER of Pyramid's history is on display in an exhibition as part of the National Lottery's 10th anniversary.

Formerly a magistrates' court, the Pyramid was transformed into an arts centre thanks to a £2.4m grant from the National Lottery.

And to celebrate the Lottery's 10th birthday, Pyramid has donated a copy of the New Testament, which was used in the magistrates' court.

The book was discovered during the renovation works at the building, and organisers of the exhibition in London have confirmed it will be used in the display.

A spokesman for the Pyramid said: "This is wonderful news. Without Lottery funding, Pyramid could not have been possible and for this we are very grateful.

"This fantastic birthday celebration will certainly put Pyramid on the national map."

The New Testament will be featured in an interactive maze on the North Landscape at Tate Modern, London, on Saturday, November 6.
