Fraud of the rings

A 44-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with theft of about £6,000 worth of rings from jewellery shops in St Helens.

It is alleged a man has been going into shops and, after asking to view expensive rings, replacing them with imitation jewellery.

Police have recovered about £6,000 worth of jewellery. The Warrington man arrested by police in connection with theft has been bailed pending further inquiries.
