New independent investigation

A SPOKESMAN for Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority (SHA) confirmed an independent investigation would now begin into the matter.

He said: "We have agreed with the trust that the SHA will commission an independent investigation to look into the issues surrounding this case.

"The terms of reference for this investigation will be agreed following discussion with the parties involved, and will be communicated in due course."
