Police tackle community issues

PROVING they can tackle community issues, Risley police staged an interschool rugby tournament for year nine children.

The event on Wednesday, May 26, was part funded by Birchwood Town Council and was hosted by Birchwood Community High School.

The event was won by Birchwood High who beat Lymm in the final.

The event was organised following the success of the football tournament earlier this year, but Risley PCSOs Barry Flynn and Steve Dodd now hope to make the rugby tournament an annual event.
