TOP jazz artists will be swinging with four days of action packed entertainment.

The Southport International Jazz Festival has attracted more than 200 artists who will be performing at venues throughout the town.

One of the best known soul singers Alexander O'Neal, Clare Teal who recently landed a £3m recording contrat and King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys are just some of the big names.

Lord Fearn, Sefton's cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: "It will be the biggest celebration of jazz that you are likely to see in the North West of England this year."

Free lunchtime bandstand performances will keep visitors entertained every day, from 12 noon.
