Halton baseball

North West Frank Caunce Junior Baseball Tournament 2004

THE 2004 NW baseball tournament, hosted by the Halton baseball and softball forum at Halton Field, Murdishaw, Runcorn started last Saturday, June 19.

It marked the official launch of the new baseball facility at Halton sports centre, which is home to Halton Jaguars senior baseball team and the Halton Polecats and Runcorn Jets junior programmes.

First pitch of the tournament was thrown by Jane Rhodes, Halton Council's sports development officer, to Liam Snowball the Polecats U17s team catcher.

The Manchester Saints took the honours in all three divisions.

In two closely contested games the Saints came out on top with the results being Halton 9 Manchester 10 and in the second game Halton 10 Manchester 12.
