Author Alan passes on expert advice at workshop

AUTHOR Alan Gibbons gave creative writers a few tips during a school visit.

He ran a full day of workshops for year seven pupils during a visit to St Gregory's RC High School last week, followed by a book signing session.

Alan, who won the Blue Peter Award for his book Shadow of the Minataur, was also nominated for the Carnegie Award last year for his book The Edge.

He has been writing children's books for 12 years and has had books published in Japanese, German, Italian, French, Thai, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Swedish and other languages.
