The D-Day

stand-ins

THE 60th anniversary of the D-Day Landings was celebrated at the Kershaw Day Centre, Newton-le-Willows, where a commemorative party was held.

The elderly people who use the centre were treated to entertainment and St Helens Council staff, who run it, decked out the rooms with Union Jack flags and dressed in costumes from the 1940s to mark the occasion.
