A first for the town in borough elections

MIDDLEWICH First is celebrating after it gained two seats on Congleton Borough Council in a landslide victory on Thursday night.

At the borough council elections held at Congleton Town Hall on June 10, Middlewich First candidates Emma Brown, of Kinderton ward (pictured on the front) and Pamela Farrell, of Cledford ward, (pictured right) were overjoyed when they were announced as victors in the region's first postal ballot.

Emma won with 1,072 and Pam won her ward with 1,057.

The party has now increased its representatives on the council from two to four and has the third highest number of seats on the council.
