Amy late for her Corrie date

THEY say patience is a virtue, but it was only an inconvenience for baby Amy Rimmer.

She was in line to play Tracy Barlow's baby in Coronation Street before she was even born, but hung on a little too long and missed the due date for her on-screen appearance by a few weeks.

And ironically, Patience even had her name changed to Amy by her on-screen mother, Tracy.

However, little Amy, from Hillside Avenue in Newton-le-Willows, who was born on January 28, was soon snapped up for another television appearance, on Tonight with Trevor McDonald and is now in demand.

She already seems to be following in the footsteps of her older sister Kirsty Rimmer, who is signed to an agency, and it was through this connection that Amy was considered to play Patience.

Seven-year-old Kirsty has appeared in various magazines and catalogues, and has most recently been involved in the award-winning plot of TV soap, Doctors.
