Pupils find out 'what's up'

CHILDREN at an Orford primary school are testing out the benefits of a new pilot scheme designed to give them the opportunity to discuss issues close to their hearts.

ARC, a local charity that offers support to people affected by domestic violence and unhealthy relationships, has secured almost £5,000 of funding from Warrington Children's Fund to run a programme of its 'What's Up' junior workbooks at St Ann's CE Primary School in Lathom Avenue.

The 'What's Up' workbooks have been developed to give parents and children the opportunity to work together to discuss feelings and understanding of the relationships around them, in a way that is familiar to them, through a series of cartoons, scenarios, fun characters and puppets.
