A bit of a do makes a lot of difference to Sandra Marriott's memorial fund

THE Orford Neighbourhood Project's annual 'Bit of a Do' has raised a total of £1,400 for the Sandra Marriott community fund.

The fund was set up in memory of Sandra, a tireless pioneer of neighbourhood welfare issues who worked at the Orford Neighbourhood Project from its inception.

It provides cash for community projects.

A donation of £450 was made by the family of former Warrington rugby league player Walter Norris, who died in March this year, aged 84.

All six residents' associations in Orford, Poplars and Hulme have been invited to make suggestions about which projects should benefit from the fund.

The results will be announced at the annual general meeting in July.
