Council to defend Redrow appeal

DEVELOPERS have appealed again against Redrow's plans to build on a site off Hob Hey Lane in Culcheth.

It will be the fifth such appeal that is currently being fought by Warrington Borough Council.

Speaking at Monday's full council meeting, Clr Keith Bland said: "This is the fifth one we have had to put up with. We do not want it."

Planning committee chairman Clr Garry Cross said the council would fight the latest appeal by Redrow.

He added: "The development control department is looking for a quality development. We have consistently refused this item and we will be defending the appeal."
