Treble honour for Billy at the Alex big awards night

CREWE'S latest young star made it a hat-trick at the club's annual End of Season awards ceremony.

It's been some season for 17-year-old Billy Jones who has established himself as a first team regular after awesome displays in an Alex shirt along with captaining England Under 17's and playing for the Under 19's in recent months.

Billy picked up Young Player of the Year, Sandbach Travelling Alex Player of the Year and the Goal of the Season award for that humdinger of a volley against Wigan last December.

Striker Steve Jones was named as the Supporters' Player of the Year after bagging 16 goals in his first full season in Division One.

Unable to attend due to Northern Ireland International commitments in the Caribbean, he sent a video message to thank supporters for the accolade.

Strike-partner Dean Ashton secured the Top Goalscorer's Award after netting 20 times this season, proving himself as one of the best forwards in the Division.

Centre-half Steve Foster took arguably the most coveted award, named as Player's Player of the Year.

While injuries tore at the back four, Foz, 24, was the constant, missing just one game throughout the entire campaign.

Foster polled the most votes by far among his teammates at the club.

Midfielder Justin Cochrane picked up a new award, BBC Radio Stoke's Newcomer of the Year.

Cochrane made a big impact, particularly in the first half of the season, going straight from Ryman's League football with Hayes to Division One.
