Feeling better

SOME Warrington Anglers' Association members may have heard that I had a heart attack while in Ireland last week.

Well, I haven't had all the tests yet but I am certainly feeling much better. Thanks to all those that sent get well wishes.

However, back to serious matters, fishing that is, and it seems that while I lay in my hospital bed being pampered by young colleens I missed some cracking sport on Warrington waters.

Rixton Claypits have been really popular, possibly due to the tench that have apparently been in a feeding frenzy. Most anglers have been reporting fish to 4lbs with catches averaging 40lbs - not many fish but good sport. A few bream and carp have also been showing.

One of our bailiffs removed a number of non-members and a pile of litter from Rixton. Don't forget, all members are authorised to check fellow members' cards so it's up to you to protect your fishing.

Congratulations to our junior team member, Richard Hines, who has been selected for the under 16s England squad. He joins the ranks of our other members who have represented their country at international level.

Contact me with any catch reports on 01928 716238, fax 713898 or e-mail frank@warrington-anglers.org.uk. HQ Parker Street will open as usual tomorrow, Friday, between 7pm and 9.30pm. Frank Lythgoe
