I AM writing on behalf of my disabled husband who is a patient at Murdishaw health centre.
On May 26 I called the surgery for a repeat prescription for him, as he is a dialysis patient only to be told by the receptionist that you can no longer do this over the phone.
I went on to explain that my husband is house bound and there is no possible way he can get from Windmill Hill to Murdishaw.
I can't leave him by himself long enough to do it myself.
She then went on to tell me that I could fax it through but seeing as I don't have a fax machine it was impossible.
She 'very kindly' told me she would let me have it this once (she offered me no other explanation about why we can no longer do this) so I called Windmill Hill chemist who very kindly went and picked it up for him.
What happens next time if we can't order repeat prescriptions over the phone and we can't get there to do it?
Does this mean my husband has to go without his life saving tablets?
What hope is there for other house bound patients?
I think it's disgusting that we can be treated in this manner.
I seriously think that that surgery should re-think these changes.
