That's the Spirit

EURO 2004 comes to the north west in June and a Runcorn school will be flying the flag for Halton - and Latvia!

Holy Spirit school of Halton Brook are taking part in an international-themed football tournament at Liverpool FC Academy on June 17.

The U11s boys team, who powered through two qualifying rounds to get to the regional finals, will represent Euro-minnows Latvia.

The school are having a great time learning all about the Baltic country so that they are decked out in the right colours on the boy's big day.

And the lads can count on plenty of support if the noise from their school friends in earlier rounds is anything to go on!

"All us girls were screaming. We felt as if our ears would explode", said Niamh Wenham and Charlie Forshaw, who cheered the team on to a 4-0 victory which took Holy Spirit into the last 16.
