Burglary victim was slashed by knifeman

A MAN had to be treated for knife wounds following an aggravated burglary.

The attack took place after two men broke into a house on Harvey Avenue, Newton-le-Willows and assaulted two men who were inside the property.

One man received a slash wound, which required stitching. Both men were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

The two intruders left the house empty handed and made their way to Marian Avenue.

They are described as being approximately six feet tall, with one said to be stockier than the other.

They were also wearing dark clothing.
