£5,000 reward to catch gang

A COMPANY boss is offering a £5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gang who smashed their way into his premises early on Tuesday.

Raiders battered through the front door and then got past a second door before spending three hours inside Universal Arches on Peasley Cross Lane, finally making off with two safes and their contents, one laptop and a variety of other equipment.

The incident occurred during the early hours of May 25 between 12.40am and 4am and CCTV cameras have picked up footage of three people acting suspiciously on the site.

One man was wearing a fluorescent jacket, pants and hood, all yellow with a black balaclava to help cover his face.

The second man was wearing either a blue or black Addidas tracksuit with a white T-shirt hanging out.

While the third man wore dark coloured trousers with a grey and blue hooped top.

Owner of Universal Arches Ltd, Paul Degiorgio, told the Star: "We will not be beaten by these people who seem intent on heaping misery on hard working people.

"There is massive damage to our offices. It really is very annoying. One of the safes stored information about the company, while the other safe contained a quantity of cash.

"It would appear that one of the safes has been thrown down the stairs while all the alarms have been ripped out as well.

"This is not the first time we have been targeted. There have been three other incidents. I do not want this to happen again."

l Police are currently investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
