BRADFORD'S Michael Withers met his match on Sunday when he bumped into one of Saints' new recruits head on.
Samoan winger Dom Feaunati, who at just over 17 stone is the biggest player on Saints' books, left his calling card with a bone-crunching hit on the Bulls full back.
"Withers made a comment to one of our staff after the game that he could not believe how hard Dom had hit him," said Ian Millward.
In only his second senior game of 13-a-side rugby, Feaunati's overall play and strong running earned even more praise from his coach and a growing army of fans.
"It has been really exciting because Dom has come on a lot quicker than we thought and he is very good listener and learner. There is no fear in him. He has been outstanding for us.
"He is very willing to work and he is a lot quicker than people would anticipate. I am just looking forward to him getting into the open one day.
"It is another big test for him because Gardner is keen to get back in there."
Already Feaunati's all-action style has endeared him to the crowd.
"He has the same appeal to the crowds as Lesley Vainikolo does with Bradford. They have really taken to him," Millward said.
Although his compatriot Maurie Fa'asavalu, who is still on the steep learning curve, was Millward's main World Cup target, Dom is proving to be a real bonus.
"It is remarkable, especially when you think that the first time I rang him in his motel he thought it was a wind up and put the phone down," Millward said.
