Final Straw, Snow Patrol

GARETH DUNNING

DEBUTS don't come much better than this.

Because on the evidence of Final Straw this indie band will be here to say.

As with many new bands, critics jump on the bandwagon and rave about groups without any real reason or evidence to back them up.

But one listen to this sumptuous album and you realise every word of praise to have been heaped upon the group is worthy.

From first track How to be Dead to last song Same, the album bubbles along with a style and purpose.

And with current single Run, Snow Patrol can claim to have one of the strongest records of the year. Almost six minutes of pure bliss.
