I NOTE the comments made by Dave Cargill.
I am led to believe that Mr Cargill is a Runcorn based councillor and, as a result of support from Runcorn based councillors, Runcorn FC were forced to leave their home town and play in Widnes.
I used to attend Canal Street for many years, however, I will not watch the club play in Widnes and consider this to no longer be the Runcorn FC I supported.
I am glad that he had an unpleasant experience at the stadium; perhaps he can now see that this is not the facility that the club require, and can help support a bid for a return to Runcorn in a stadium fit for their level. The only future for Runcorn FC is a return to Runcorn where exiled supporters will help boost the gates.
As it stands, I would rather see the club fold than continue to play in Widnes.
So, come on Mr Cargill, give the town of Runcorn a much needed sports facility where people can enjoy football in their own town.
Runcorn FC supporter,
not FC Halton supporter
