WARRINGTON students came out in protest against the Government's plans for top-up fees on Wednesday.
Around 50 students at the Padgate Campus of Cheshire University joined together to show their support for the national strike against the proposed increases.
The protest was organised by Steve Petty, vice president of Chester students' union, who said: "It was a very successful day and we were able to show, as a campus, that we were supporting the national strike."
Unlike many students who boycotted lectures across the UK, the Padgate students chose to strike during their lunch break.
"It was up to institutions to decide what they wanted to do but we believe in not disturbing lectures as it is the students who miss out," said Steve, 22.
More than two million students from the National Union of Students (NUS) joined tens of thousands of lecturers from the Association of University Teachers (AUT) during nationwide strike action last week.
