It's back to work for revamped Jobcentre

A REVITALISED Jobcentre aims to help unemployed people in Winsford to get back into work by offering a range of new services.

Jobcentre Plus opened in Winsford's High Street last Wednesday, and bosses believe the opening marks an important milestone not just for Winsford, but also nationally, as the latest phase in a rollout of offices across the country.

Local businesses, jobseekers and Jobcentre staff joined Vale Royal mayor, Clr Vale Godfrey at the centre's official opening last week.

Mark Wilson, district manager for Jobcentre Plus Cheshire and Warrington, said: "Customers will be able to visit one location for finding jobs and receiving benefit advice.

"They will also benefit from the support and expertise that our personal advisers can offer, to help them develop their potential to compete in the employment market.

"I am delighted to announce the launch of the full Jobcentre Plus service in Winsford.

"This is an exciting change within the Cheshire and Warrington District and it signifies an improvement in the standard of customer service for people of working age in the town."

Jobcentre Plus replaces the Employment Service and Benefits Agency and the people behind the change believe the new service provides an enhanced service for both employers and jobseekers, by bringing advice and benefits services together under one roof.

A spokesman added: "The offices have personal advisers, who give a service tailored to each individual and touch-screen job points, providing easy access to more than 400,000 vacancies Europe-wide.

"There's also an efficient appointment system in line with other customer-focussed high street services."
