Holmes Chapel 3
Middlewich TSC 6
HOLMES Chapel FC faced championship chasing Middlewich TSC hoping to build on last week's victory and move up the second division table.
In blustery conditions, Middlewich were able to pressurise the Chapel defence with a series of long throws into the box and took the lead when their forward was able to flick the ball beyond goalkeeper Foxcroft.
But Holmes Chapel hit back with the goal of the game.
A brilliant through ball from Botham saw Bayliss run on to it and slide the ball home.
Holmes Chapel took the lead when Bayliss beat the visiting goalkeeper to a cross and scored at the second attempt.
Middlewich though were level after converting a low cross and doubled the lead with a similar goal.
After the break the game remained tight and the next twist came with Chapel equalizing again.
Knipe's effort from a corner seemed to have crossed the line, but Bayliss was on hand to poach his third and complete his hat trick.
But Chapel conceded almost immediately.
A shot from the edge of the area, hit a divot and flew over the stretching Foxcroft into the top corner.
It was rough on the home side who could have equalised once more, but Bayliss' effort missed.
Middlewich scored a further two scrappy goals to seal the win and maintain their push for promotion.
