Wind fails to spoil fun

Rangers U14 4

EGERTON U14 6

EGERTON got back to winning ways on Sunday at a bitterly cold and windy Sir John Deane's College at Northwich.

The game was spoilt by the blustery conditions, but Egerton were always on top. There was not much to write home about in the first 20 minutes with the ball being out of play as much as in play. Then Murphy struck to make it 1-0 Egerton.

This opened the floodgates and within 10 minutes Egerton were 4-0 up thanks to a Murphy hat trick and Raffo scoring from close range.

Rangers did pull one back but that only prompted Egerton to score a fifth through Murphy.

Now most normal teams would go on to record a rugby score but Egerton sat back in the seco nd half. Rangers scored to make it 5-2. Murphy broke free again for 6-2, but Rangers were not finished and it was soon 6-3 and then a goalmouth scramble made it 6-4.

Egerton did not really look like losing the game but they like to do things the hard way.
