HORNETS edged this game following a scoreless first period.

Both sides matched each other only for Bridge Timber man of the match Adam Lawton to go on the blind side of the scrum and force his way past two defenders and score in the corner, Daniel price missed the conversion.

Mike Bailey, Dominic Smith, Daniel Heymans, Steven Reynolds and Jonathan Hayes held the defensive line together. But the home side forced the score in the corner after the Hornets had conceded a needless penalty, the conversion was missed.

Jordan Pennington and James Hilton both had outstanding games in the centre along with Chris Brown and Daniel Clegg on the wings.

Martin Cliffe came on to strengthen the defence in the middle as the home side put the pressure on. Hornets forced their way down the field, which allowed Lawton to score again and convert the try to give the Hornets the victory.
