West Bowling U14s 4
West Bank Bears U14s 8
National Cup Semi Final
IN what was always going to be a very close match the Bears just held the upper hand.
West Bowling were a team that hadn't been beaten for 18 months and during the early exchanges it was easy to see why.
With a good solid defence and some good attacking options they managed to take a 4-0 lead.
But the Bears were not to be outdone and came back with a try from Robert Holbrook.
After withstanding 18 tackles on their own line the Bears slowly started to take control, mounting wave upon wave of attacks on the Bowling line.
Eventually something had to give and it was Stuart Harland who came up with the try that sent the Bears into their first major final of the season.
The Bears still have a semi final against Blackbrook in the NWC cup still to look forward to.
There were good displays from all the lads but it is probably only fair to mention the three players picked by the opposition.
In third place T Arrowsmith, second place S Gilmore and man of the match R Holbrook.
