Community order for boss

THE head of a security firm pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods and forging an insurance certificate.

Warrington Crown Court heard on Friday that Daniel Hodson, 37, was stopped in Everite Road Industrial Estate in Widnes driving an Audi worth around £20,000.

He told police he bought it from a friend of a friend, but pleaded guilty to knowing or believing it to be stolen.

He had paid £10,000 out of £15,000 for the Audi, the court heard.

Mr Hodson, of East Dam Wood Road in Speke, runs a security firm and bought the car to help the image of the business.

His defence said he was a man of previous good character who regretted his 'moment of madness'. He was sentenced to a 100 hours community rehabilitation order and has to pay a total of £1,078 in costs.
