HORNETS maintained their unbeaten run against Warrington.

Liam Hulme opened the scoring after linking up with Gareth O'Brien.

Crosfields levelled with a try in the corner.

Before half time Hornets retained the lead after Ryan Risley ran onto a ball from O'Brien and the centre/second row went on a run before placing the ball under the posts. O'Brien converted. In the second half Crosfields used a good kicking game but forwards Warburton, Gilhooley, Bailey, Turner and Ogburn, made good yards to get up attacking moves for the backs. Risley scored his second try to give Hornets a 14-4 lead.

Crosfields then caught the Hornets defence flatfooted when a chip over the top found a support player who sprinted over.

Liam Hulme scored a second long-range effort to ensure victory.Next up is the Lancashire cup final on Sunday against Blackbrook at Robin Park, Wigan, kick-off 11am.
