World book day comes to halton

A CELEBRATION of reading will be shared in more than 30 countries on world book day.

Halton readers are invited to join the event on Thursday, March 4.

All sorts of special activities are being held to encourage more people to appreciate the personal enrichment gained from books.

Readers all over the world can chat online with JK Rowling when she launches the world book day online festival.

The bestselling author will talk to children about her books, her writing and her own personal taste in reading.

She will answer 12 special questions from the winners of the festival competition open to all UK schools.

Readers can access the festival free at their local library.

Twelve other bestselling writers, including Nick Hornby, Jacqueline Wilson, Benjamin Zephaniah and Minette Walters will be presenting films, online chats and a discussion forum on March 4.
