Gang beats up phone box man

A GANG of four yobs beat-up a man who had been using a public phone-box.

The 31-year-old was on the phone when a group of young men and women surrounded the booth and began verbally abusing him.

One man from the gang then entered the phone-box at the junction of Queensland Drive and Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath, took the phone from the victim and assaulted him.

As the victim tried to leave the scene, others from the gang joined in the attack. He was knocked to the floor several times and suffered minor cuts, and bruising to his face, head and body.

Police have issued descriptions of four men involved in the attack, all of who are thought to be aged in their early to mid 20s. One of the men is about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build. He had short dark hair and a pale complexion.

A second man is aged 6ft tall, with cropped fair hair and was wearing a white jacket and blue jeans.

A third man is of slim build, with a long, wavy black hair and a pale complexion. He was wearing a burgundy shirt and black jeans. A fourth man is of medium build with short black hair. He was wearing a dark top.
