Rhymes for a reason

BUDDING bards and would-be wordsmiths at St Michael's primary school conjured up a piece of poetry magic in the name of healthy eating.

Local poet Mandy Coe helped pupils piece together a fruity-themed 10-minute performance for their school's entrant into the Starbites performing arts evening taking place at the Queens Hall on March 18.

Teaching assistant, Ann Murphy, said: "The children really benefited from the workshop. Mandy was full of ideas and enthusiasm. She really stretched their imaginations. "They are really looking forward to performing their healthy living piece. And you never know, there might be some untapped talent amongst them too!"
