Plans in place for monthly art exhibition

AN art exhibition that was held in Burtonwood at the beginning of this month has proved so successful that organisers are hoping to make it a monthly event.

Gareth Thomas, of Haley Road South, joined forces with around a dozen other artists to stage an exhibition of paintings and drawings at the Elm Tree Inn, Clay Lane, on February 2.

Plans are now under way for a second event in early March, and Gareth is hoping that this will be just as successful as the first.

He said: "We need people to come and have a look at the displays as well as to exhibit, no matter what their ability, whether it's the first time they've exhibited or whether they're a seasoned professional."
