Shiver me timbers!

A TEAM of ghostbusters claim to have gathered evidence of paranormal activity at the town's old Sea Cadets building.

The six-strong squad of ghost enthusiasts - who go by the name of Ghost Guru UK - went on an overnight ghost hunt at the 150-year-old building on Mill Street, St Helens.

There, they claim to have captured images of orbs - balls of light that ghost believers say are first indication of ghosts. Some squad members also report hearing creepy footsteps.

Among the team, is Mark Parr, who is penning a book about some of St Helens' most haunted places.

The 30-year-old from Rainford, a member of Greater Manchester Police's armed response unit, said: "We went to the Sea Cadets after a story in the Star when I asked for people to come forward with the town's most haunted houses.

"From the feedback we got 50 people who said the Sea Cadets building was haunted. We've heard reports of ghosts being seen there and that is where we took images of the orbs."

Mark and his team are planning more investigations at the building and are keen to know of any other haunted houses.
