Sympathy is with bereaved families

With reference to letters in Points of View for the past two weeks. I belong to the generation when owning a car in your street was a luxury.

Now of course it is one, two, three and sometimes four to each family.

How about fitting a 28 mph governor on all cars. Then we can do away with all the bumps, speed cameras and most speed police?

Or should we fit 'turbo jets' to all the 'burn em up barons', who have music centres taking up all the boot, that can be heard on Mars when they fly over the bumps?

I am sorry, my sympathy goes to all the families whose graves I help to maintain in the Warrington Cemetery, who lost their lives in road accidents.

Working in the cemetery last week, a young woman in a sports car drove up the main drive at 45 to 50 mph. It is clearly marked 5 mph. I wonder if the council would put bumps in there, though I suppose that would be a waste of money?

The fact is the hotheads these days, in the words of Rab Butler, they 'just don't give a damn.

A CLEMO,

Dovedale Close, Orford
